East Meets West

East Meets West

This was one of the mural hearts painted through the central city in Auckland, New Zealand for "Heart of the City" in 2015 and was painted by an artist called Flox. This is my favorite out of the hearts they have commissioned as the animals and colors used really appeal to me.

"Heart of the City" is a company that promotes the central city in Auckland and is involved in projects like this. Though it's also well known for its founder Alex Swney ripping the company off for $2.5millon and eventually getting 5 years in jail for it! (He also ripped off the IRS for $4.6millon on top of that). I know the first thing I think when "Heart of the City" comes up in anyway, including seeing the events they're sponsoring or things like these murals, is the fact that were used as a ATM by the guy who started itů
